I am not good at them.
I see their value; I appreciate them. I even wish to incorporate them into my life more.
But I am not good at them.
Routines are all about practice. I have to practice practicing.
I need structure, expectations, deadlines and hard lines. Otherwise I set out to work out, clean the house, go to work, play with the dogs and make dinner... then a butterfly goes by and it's 3 hours later and I now know price of tea in china and the names of all of the dust bunnies I've neglected in my urgent disregard of actual matters of relevance.

Crazy Ideas
No idea what spawned it or how long it'll last-- but all of a sudden I felt driven to write anonymously again. I don't know that I have anything in particular to say really. I suppose the first time I gave this a shot it was with a desperate fervor, searching for something with gimmicks or miracles to get things back on track. I'm not a patient person, by nature.
But, maybe if I write because I want to, explore as if it's not about getting things perfect and take the time to really look at myself, it'll work out better this time around.
Not for you (no offense), but for me. Isn't that what they say? Then again-- if this really was just for me, would I be posting it up for the world to see?
I think I hope that someday, I'll have something truly important to say. In the meantime, I can rehearse with minor topics saying things the right way-- so that when the time comes to say something truly important, the words will lucidly flow with the ease of practice and purpose.
